Thank you, Lukas & Shannan for contributing in this post! I am grateful that you brought this procedure to my attention. Mainly because this procedure is “time sensitive” to when, during ones PD journey, to consider because you can run out of time… I have had PD about 5 years, as well. Medication is much more complicated and challenging, now! I am seriously considering the surgery and it seems that this would be the right time (for me) to consider this option. Thank you, both, so much!
Hi!
My father was dx w PD about 5 years ago but had many symptoms. He also has advanced Lymes disease. He made the decision to go forward w DBS and is having success with taming his symptoms and providing better quality of life. Because two of the most important ppl in my life are dx w this disease ( my father and my husband) I spend a lot of time trying understand it and learn how to best help them live w it. Everyone’s journey is personal and solutions to maintaining your best self come in many different forms. The common thread is to keep moving. And sharing with this community has been a great support system.
❤️Be well.

I am at that stage in my walk through this world called PD, that I am investigating Movement Disorder Specialist so I am open to all you can provide me about what I find. Hugs 🫂🤗 love always to show I care for my Brother's and sisters. I ask God to show each one of y'all the strength he has for you if you believe. I received strength to go through all my discomfort even if it isn't gone. Praise God. Have a blessed weekend
I understand Lucky and agree a lot of our energy is spent getting through our day with joy and hope. DBS is moving ahead in the research world and being done more often and less risk based upon the articles I've read. I thought some folks might want to know more about it as it becomes more mainstream and as docs discuss the topic with PD folks as their symptoms progress.

Thanks for your feedback,
I am aware of just about most that is being experimented with. Most of us, I suspect, are just dealing at the moment with their own particular issues.
