Sinemet

What med schedule works for you. I am presently taking 1/2 .25mg sinemet every 3-4 hrs. 1 tab bedtime. Have some break throughs. Is that correct terminology? Dr had me 2 pills twice a day. Not doing the job. Originally on requip, The swelling was too, much. Just moved to Stockton Modesto and do not have dr yet. I feel like a slave to little bottle and clock. But it works. Better than the alternatives. Open to suggestions.

I am taking two Sinemet 25mg/100mg every three hours during the day, backed up with Entacapone and two half sinemet before bed. Clonazepam x1 an hour before bed. This was working quite well for the first 6 months but now have a lot of off time with strong tremors and Dystonia. My on time tends to leave me with dyskenesia. At least I get plenty of excercise, always on the move. I rare!y sleep during the day and insomnia keeps me up a lot during the night. Resting seems to make this worse so I keep busy all day, housework, cooking, gym twice a week, badminton with my grandsons one evening a week and walking the dog twice a day. Never been so busy. I am retired and 73 years old, l living with my wonderful and supportive husband. We recently celebrated our 53rd wedding anniversary. I don't notice any really bad side effects. Life doesn't get me down very often, just occasionally in the middle of a long dark night when the dog is asleep next to me, snoring. This is when I talk to my mum. I don't believe in an afterlife but there have been occasions when she seems to be with me giving a comforting feeling
To the new member I can say , yes marriage cannot only survive but thrive in these conditions, but only if the will is there for both of you. I hope you can find a way to give each other the love and support you once had. Talking to each other with honesty is so important. Both of you are going through a hard time but it can be easier if tackled together. Good luck to your endeavors.

On line you can buy a pill dispensing device with alarms to remind you to take meds. It runs on double A batteries and it's lockable. I take pills 5 times a day. I set it up once a week with medication, take it with me for short stays or overnights. If only missing one dosage due to event take out battery (or it will keep for 30 min)and reset it when I get back home.

What strength carbo levodopa ? Do u get sleepy or lightheaded during the day? I have activities I need to be alert for or as much as I can. That it is why am so interested in what works for different ones. I am trying not to be a couch potato. I might end up that way but I am trying to avoid or prolong it. I do recognize for many circumstances dictate better a couch potato than not being in the fight.
